Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how Mangalam Seeds Limited, a public limited company incorporated in India and having its registered office at 202, Sampada, Mithakhali Six Roads, Navarangpura, Ahmedabad 380009, Gujarat, India (hereinafter referred to as "MSL", "the Company", "we", "us" or "our"), collects, uses, stores, discloses and otherwise processes information of individuals who use the MSL Workspace mobile application (the "App").

The App is an internal business tool developed and operated by the Company. Access to the App is restricted to authorised employees of the Company and to authorised business partners with whom the Company has an active working relationship. The App is not made available to the general public and is not intended for use by any person other than those expressly authorised by the Company.

By downloading, installing or logging in to the App, you confirm that you have read this Policy, that you understand the manner in which the Company processes your information, and that you consent to such processing for the purposes set out below.

In the course of providing access to and use of the App, the Company collects the following categories of information. When you log in to the App, the Company collects identification and access information including your full name, employee identification number, work email address, mobile number, designation, department or branch, and role assigned to you within the Company's systems. Your password is collected solely for the purpose of authenticating your access and is stored only in encrypted, one-way hashed form. The Company does not retain a recoverable copy of any password.

When you use the App, the Company automatically records activity information including the date and time of each login and logout, the screens or modules you access, and the transactions, records and entries that you create, modify, view or delete. The Company also records certain technical information about the device on which the App is installed, such as the device model, the version of the Android operating system, and the version of the App, in order to provide technical support, diagnose errors and maintain the security of the App.

In addition, the App stores business information that you enter as part of your work for the Company. This includes records relating to customers, suppliers, farmers, dealers, orders, invoices, payments, stock movements, accounting entries and other operational data of the Company. Such business information is the property of the Company and is governed by the Company's internal policies in addition to this Policy.

The App does not access the contact list, SMS messages, call logs, photographs, media files or background location of your device, and it does not collect any information that is unrelated to the Company's business.

The Company uses the information collected through the App solely for legitimate business purposes connected with the operation of the App and the conduct of the Company's business. These purposes include authenticating users and controlling access to information on a role-appropriate basis; recording, processing and maintaining business transactions undertaken in the course of the Company's operations; maintaining internal audit trails and records as required for sound internal control; providing technical support; investigating and addressing security incidents; and complying with applicable legal, regulatory, audit and tax obligations.

The Company does not use information collected through the App for advertising, behavioural profiling, or any form of commercial exploitation, and does not sell, rent or trade such information with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.

Information collected through the App is treated as confidential and is retained within the Company's systems. Disclosure to third parties is limited to the following circumstances. The Company engages reputable infrastructure and hosting service providers to host the systems on which the App operates. Such service providers process data only on the instructions of the Company and under contractual obligations of confidentiality and security. Limited operational data may be processed by Google Play Services, including for the purposes of application distribution, updates and crash reporting, in accordance with the policies published by Google.

Where the Company is required to disclose information to any statutory, regulatory, judicial or governmental authority under applicable law, or where disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of the Company, its employees or any other person, the Company may make such disclosure to the extent so required. Save as set out above, the Company does not disclose information collected through the App to any third party without an appropriate legal basis.

The Company has implemented reasonable physical, technical and organisational measures to safeguard the information collected through the App against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. These measures include the use of encrypted communication channels between the App and the Company's servers, the storage of passwords only in one-way hashed form, role-based access controls within the App, logging of administrative and user actions, and regular backups of data held on secure infrastructure.

While the Company endeavours to protect information using industry-standard practices, no electronic system or method of transmission is entirely secure. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for promptly notifying the Company of any actual or suspected unauthorised use of your account.

The Company retains information collected through the App for such period as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected and to comply with applicable legal, regulatory and audit requirements. Account and access information is retained for so long as the user is an authorised user of the App. Upon cessation of your employment or business relationship with the Company, your access to the App is withdrawn. Business records and transaction data created through the App are retained by the Company for the periods prescribed under applicable Indian laws, including the Companies Act, 2013, the Income-tax Act, 1961, and the goods and services tax legislation.

Subject to applicable law and to the Company's legal, audit and record-retention obligations, you may request access to the personal information that the Company holds about you, request the correction of information that is inaccurate or out of date, and request the deletion of information that is no longer required to be retained. Requests should be addressed in writing to the Company at the contact details set out in Section 10. The Company may require you to verify your identity before acting on such requests.

The App is intended exclusively for use by adults in the course of their work for the Company and is not directed at, and must not be used by, any person below the age of eighteen years.

The Company may amend this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in its practices, in the App, or in applicable law. The revised Policy will be made available through the App and on the Company's website. The "Effective Date" at the beginning of this Policy will be updated to reflect the date on which the revised Policy takes effect. Continued use of the App following any such amendment shall constitute your acceptance of the revised Policy.
